Cresovia Leopoliensis is a Polish Academic Fraternity, based on values such as friendship, patriotism, honour and self-improving. The name of the Fraternity reflects its special nature, as our association was meant to unite mainly Poles coming from the South-East Borderlands of Poland. The Fraternity's goal was to educate young Poles and create self-aware citizens who would then strenuously and systematically work in their hometowns to preserve and strenghten the Polish identity of the Borderlands.

The Polish Academic Fraternity Cresovia Leopoliensis was founded in 1926 in Lwów by a group of twenty-five students of Jan Kazimierz University and Technical University. The Second World interrupted dynamic development of the Fraternity. However, thanks to strong and long-lasting ties of friendship between its members Cresovia managed to survive both the War and the dark communist era and to resume its official activities in October 2007.

The Fraternity's Ideological Declaration:

  • The main goal of every member is to work for Poland, for its greatness and power. The Nation and Country's welfare is his supreme law, his lodestar and the benchmark of his moral values.

  • For every member of the Fraternity work for the good of Poland signifies work for the entire Nation. He thus opposes any ideologies or movements which strive to give priority to personal, political or class interests over the interests of the Polish Nation and Country as a whole.

  • A Fraternity member is well-aware of the danger of foreign elements, putting the Most Serene Republic of Poland under the threat of losing her homogenous national character. He is ever ready to defend the Polish national identity, both in terms of spiritual and material values.

  • The Fraternity is ruled by the spirit of democracy, brotherhood and equality. No member may rise above others due to his birth, wealth or status. Every Pole is his brother.
